I have a strange problem with outgoing alerts e-mails on our SP 2010 farm. Alert notification are delivered, but no alerts comes whatever I do.
the things i already did:
STSADM -o getproperty -url http://sharepoint.nl–pn job-immediate-alerts
info was correct!
stsadm -o setproperty -url http://sharepoint.nl -pn alerts-enabled -pv False
stsadm -o setproperty -url http://sharepoint.nl -pn alerts-enabled -pv True
stsadm -o updatealerttemplates -url http://sharepoint.nl -f "c:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\14\TEMPLATE\XML\alerttemplates.xml" -LCID 1033
And many more options I tried......!

I am unable to install MS SQL SSRS add-in for SharePoint 2010 in a two tier architecture. The following message is displayed while running the Add-in installation:
"Please ensure Microsoft SharePoint Technologies is installed"
The environment setup is as mentioned below:
SharePoint Server
Has SharePoint 2010 installed
Hosts Central Administration.
Has SQL 2008 Reporting Services installed.
SQL Server:
Has SQL 2008 R2 installed in SharePoint Integrated Mode
Has SQL Reporting Services
Has SharePoint Server installed, configured and joined to two tier farm.

I have configured User Profile Service Application and have successfully synchronized with our company AD. I have set up a my site host and configured everything as per the various step by step guides available. My problem is that I get no results in the people search. Can someone please point me in the right direction to resolve this.
I have a small farm environment with an Application Server and a Web Front End Server. All my search functionality works fine if I am on the Site pages using the App server URL, however, if I use the Web Front End server URL, all the site pages work but when I input a search I get "The Web application at https://webfrontendservername/searchcenter/ could not be found. Verify that you have typed the URL correctly, if the URL should be serving existing content, the system administrator may need to add a new request URL mapping to the intended application."
Can someone tell me how I get this server searching?

Recently we moved the Sharepoint 2010 Farm server into a different physical base server. The farm has a FBA (claim based authentication) site. After moving the farm, the FBA site is not opening and giving a “service unavailable http error 503”. On searching various blogs for help I got the site up and running after checking the Sharepoint services in services.msc and Application Pool.
Now the issue is with FBA users logging. The error message is “The server could not sign you in. Make sure your user name and password are correct, and then try again.” No changes are made on the server before/after the movement. Few blogs mentions to check for the user account at IIS application pool. The already configured FBA admin account details are passed in application pool. The error is same.
Please help me with solving the issue. :)

I have this list logging some mail-sending.
I have made a retension policy, stating that the list items should be deleted a month after the MailSent date.
When I ran the job manually the clean-up was succesfull, but now as it is scheduled through the two timer jobs:
Information management policy and Expiration policy.
The two timer jobs executes succesfully, but nothing happens to my list.
Any suggestions.

and now i have requirement to move this farm to a new domain with new IP

I have a multi server farm (2 WFE, 2 APP, 1 Load Balancer)
Infopath Form: Created an infopath form that calls the userprofileservice.asmx for method GetUserProfileByName (the data connection is called CreateUserProfileByName in Infopath)
Web Application: Have tried classic and claims with NTLM and Kerberos (nothing works)
Browser : IE 8
The form works fine in Infopath itself. However when published to the server I get the dreaded 5566 error. Pretty much have exhausted all suggestions from the web.
The error message in ULS is - The following query failed: CreateUserProfileByName (User: Domain\MyFirstName.MyLastName, Form Name: Template, IP: , Connection Target: http://spsite/sites/SiteRequest/ConnectionLibrary/file.udcx, Request: http://spsite/sites/SiteRequest/Lists/Requests/AllItems.aspx, Form ID: urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:infopath:list:-AutoGen-2012-08-28T23:06:23:223Z Type: DataAdapterException, Exception Message: The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized. I have a SP 2010 farm. I have verified that crawling is taking place. On one particular site collection, I have found a shared doc library which, when searching just this library, returns no results.
The library contains PDFs.
Those PDFs are readable by all staff.
The crawl logs do not show any error or warning on the documents.
Now, the documents are visio charts with text written out as PDFs. Should I be seeing search hits on these?
If I know for certain that PDFs are being indexed elsewhere on this site collection, and the permissions look okay, and the documents are not particularly large, does anyone else have other ideas on why the search is not returning things that it should be?

The issue is only on one site collection , there are other site collections which work fine.

I recently migrated my databases over to another database server and using CLICONFG used aliases to point to the new location. However a couple of service applications weren't originally pointing to the Alias and were instead hardcoded to the old db server. When I updated their properties and restarted all the services on each of the wfes and app servers it appears to have worked properly. However when I do this
get-spdatabase | select name,server I see this now

So it almost looks like there is another database or something .. Is there something specific I should to to remove references to the old db server in this command? I let it go for a day hoping there was a timer job to clean it up or something .. but no good :)

This is the exact same issue as this 365 thread: http://community.office365.com/en-us/forums/148/p/175906/528698.aspx?PageIndex=3 but when I asked for support to give me the resolution on their end they told me to open a ticket.
This user can visit other site collections without an issue but when they visit this one specific collection they are redirected to usersettingserror.aspx and they receive a message they says "Edit User Settings". They can not view the pages in this site collection they only receive this error page.
This happens after the upgrade to 2013. In 2010 they are able to visit without issue. 2010 is non-claims and 2013 is claims.

We have an On-premise SharePoint 2010 currently. In addition to this, we have Office 365 E3 subscription as well (we are planning for a future migration).
Now here is my pain area - I am supposed to Implement IRM on SharePoint 2010. BUT my AD does not have RMS role configured. Client is reluctant in approving this configuration (don't know why). And have advised us to consider Azure Rights Management (from SPO E3) and see if it fits requirements.
Although I know that (have read in a blog) this can be done by using RMS connector on SPS 2010:

We migrated Sp2007 farm to Sp2013 Server using Avepoint tool 6 months back. After that migration farm has been preety stable so far and it is now time for SP1 and new CU's to be implemented in the farm. I recently installed Sp1, upgrade went fine except few gliches, related to BDC database not being upgraded. which was later fixed.
I am now in Post upgrade health check stage and was going through Upgrade Logs, where i saw something interesting.
The [SharePoint - projects443] web application is configured with claims authentication mode however the content database you are trying to attach is intended to be used against a windows classic authentication mode.
I am not quite sure what is this error referencing to, My web application is configured using claims auth, but i dont know what does it mean by database trying to attach is intended to be used against a windows classic authentication mode.
This is the development server i am working, and planning for QA Upgrade next week.
So i ran test-Spcontentdatabase to some web applications, where same warnings were being thrown. this is what is reads:

Locations :Although UpgradeBlock is set to false, but i am cautious and at the same time curious about what is happening in the back end.
I dont want any future trouble because of this, because i am going to upgrade production very soon with Sp1 too.

I have checked the product version and there is nothing during install sp2 for sharepoint , sp2 for office web apps,I have no idea, maybe i can remove this server ,is there any other better way?
