We are keep getting The Managed Metadata Service 'Managed Metadata Service' is inaccessible. (EVENT id:8088)

after few minutes The Managed Metadata Service 'Managed Metadata Service' has connected successfully.(event ID:8090).

this causing SharePoint site outage and slowness. how to fix above issue Permanently.

Steps taken so for:

Provide permissions 'Managed Metadata Service' service App Pool identity on 'Managed Metadata Service' service application.

Reenter 'Managed Metadata Service' App Pool Identity Credentials and start service.

checked Disk spaces and it's having enough space.

Followed below blog's and verified everything.

Good morning, 

 I am encountering an issue with SharePoint alerts and groups.  Looking through previous threads I have already confirmed that the groups are defined as security groups as well as distribution groups, groups have read permissions to the list and site, and alerts are being sent/received by individual users.  There are also no restrictions on who can send to the groups.

What would be the next areas to examine, or are there any insights to a potential root cause?

Good day, gentlemen!

I am facing a Meeting Invitation from Outlook to a SharePoint Calendar Timezone Error.

The Outlook TimeZone Invitation is UTC-03:00 and when the event is registered on a SharePoint Calendar it is appearing as UTC-00:00.

Has anyone seen this error before?

Please, check the Scenario Details below.

A. The Server Scenario:

1.      In order to enable the Incoming Email Service on SharePoint Foundation 2010, I added the SMTP Feature on the Windows 2008 R2 Server;
2.      I set up the SMTP Service accordingly to the Alias used on the server
3.      I enabled the Incoming Email Service properly on SharePoint Foundation 2010 Central Administration;
4.      The Server Time Zone is set up as Brazilian Time (UTC-03:00);
5.      The Default Time Zone of all the Web Applications are Brazilian Time (UTC-03:00);
6.      Latest Windows Updates are applied on the Server.

B. The Site Collection Scenario:

1.      I created a Site Collection and a calendar with incoming e-mail enabled;
2.      The default Time Zone of the site is Brazilian Time (UTC-03:00);

C. The Error Scenario:

1.      I send an invitation whit Brazil Time Zone (UTC-03:00) (Start Time: 03:00 PM – End Time: 4:00 PM) from Outlook to the SharePoint Calendar created;
2.      The event on the SharePoint Calendar has its Started Time and End End with UTC 00:00 (Start Time: 07:00 PM – End Time: 8:00 PM), therefore, with a different time than the Outlook Calendar.

I've gone through the normal steps of having the table of contents web part not show a subsite (uncheck the box that says "Show Hidden Sites" as well as hide the site in the global navigation) but for whatever reason, the site I've hidden still appears in the table of contents. Is there any way to remove it without deleting the subsite entirely?

Thoughts?

Hi all,

I'm struck in a situation where I was trying to pull custom  Audit Log report for a site in SharePoint 2010.

Unfortunately I ran into errors, I tried to change the Information Management policy settings but gave me an error "the content type  folder is sealed" (while trying to enable auditing check box)

I changed the site collection audit settings to 'trim' at first.

Can anyone help me on this ?

I have two sites configured in the production server. Production site and Production Archive site. There is some data in production site. The case notes for these data are coming properly in production site. Old data is stored in the archive site. While creating archive site, I moved the data from production site to archive site and deleted the data from the production site. The case notes are not visible in the production archive site. When I investigated, I found out that in the productionSocial Database the archived data is still mapped with the production site URL and not mapped with production archive site URL. My Site has been configured in production server. In production site, I am able to see the case notes whereas in production archive site I am not able to.

What is the possible solution? How to retrieve the comments for the Archived cases?

Please advise

Web analaytics reports are not displayed the reports for two weeks from sharepoint end and after two weeks we had restarted the timer service so it is again givining the results but we need the two weeks data that were not recorded in sharepoint end.

is there any possible way we can get them back from shrepoint end or SQL end?

Hi, I'm getting this strange error when creating a new web application. It allows me to create the app, but when trying to navigate to it, i get a HTML connection refused error? Anybody seen this error before? Thanks.

I have an on-prem SP 2010 server and I'm trying to migrate data to SharePoint Online using the new API. When I run the ConvertTo-SPOMigrationTargetedPackage command the following error shows in the ConvertMigrationPackage log:

Warning Source XML file C:\package\LookupListMap.xml was not found

The last part of the log is this:

Hello Team,

We need to set up DR for the Production farm which is on SP2010. We have chosen the Hot Stand By approach as DR strategy and customer is okay for that. Now working on the strategy for syncing the DR DB from Prod DB.

When we explored,following are the available options

1) DB Mirroring

2) Log Shipping

3) SQL Always on provided the DB Server is on SQL Server 2012.

Can you please help us out in understanding the best approach in syncing the DR DB from Prod DB? What all SharePoint DB's can be configured for this Sync?

Issue with restoring site collection

I have deleted a site collection(after taking its back up) by mistake and now trying to restore backup with the same site collection name(so that URL remain same) but it is giving error that-"the site collection can not be restored. If this problem persists, please make sure the content database are available and have sufficient free space".

I don't think this is issue of not sufficient space because when I am trying to restore same backup with other site collection name, it is being done successfully.

What could be the reason? If i am doing it wrong that what is correct way to restore this site collection so that URL remain same?

Our Production SharePoint environment is managed by a dedicated team who recently applied April CU KB2965294 to our farm/all servers. We manage our own Test environment which should be as near a replica of Production as possible (with the exception its a stand alone box not a farm & the everything is all on the one box), so I installed the same update.

The upgrade was installed on test from the downloaded .msi & I ran psconfig afterwards. All seemed fine except in Central Admin\Review Database Status, one of the databases advised under status "Database is up to date, but some sites are not completely upgraded." The stsadm tool showed 19/32 site collections still required upgrading.

So I queried SP Powershell using Get-SPContentDatabase to get the content db's Id's, then ran Upgrade-SPContentDatabase. The window goes through the process but once at 100% I'm advised that the upgrade completed with errors. Consulting the log file it references it is littered with the following errors:

I'm completely stuck............can anyone help on how to update this database?

Hi

We are busy refreshing a QA server. We restored the SQL DB from a prod backup.

After <g class="gr_ gr_169 gr-alert gr_tiny gr_spell ContextualSpelling multiReplace" data-gr-id="169" id="169">i</g> attach the app the web application the amount of "Current Number of Site Collections" for the database is not correct?

We have restored a few times now, and to different farms running Project Server...

Is this a backup issue or why would the SharePoint content DB show with one less Site Collection. 

When <g class="gr_ gr_346 gr-alert gr_tiny gr_spell ContextualSpelling multiReplace" data-gr-id="346" id="346">i</g> run PowerShell command to restore the PWA site it failed. 

(FYI, restored from a different farm and it worked and <g class="gr_ gr_444 gr-alert gr_gramm Punctuation only-ins replaceWithoutSep" data-gr-id="444" id="444">resolved</g> but my concern <g class="gr_ gr_485 gr-alert gr_gramm Grammar multiReplace" data-gr-id="485" id="485">remain</g> with our prod backups that might be faulty...)

Anyway, Friday afternoon here so <g class="gr_ gr_602 gr-alert gr_tiny gr_spell ContextualSpelling multiReplace" data-gr-id="602" id="602">i</g> will check back on Monday. Thanks

in share point 2010 have added column as Budget Status, when I go library and open the file, I can see the colum, but when I go to Edit properties for option to pick the choice , its not showing me the choice,

I have done the same set up last year , it was working fine, donnot know why its not column showing the choice on edit properties,  can some one please suggest what I am doing wrong,

I have tried every thing, deleting the column and adding it again, still not working

I have a SharePoint 2010(SP2 + Aug 2013 CU) farm with 4 WFE and App server. I have a web application with Publishing site with 3 zones.

Default: Anonymous (Provider : Windows)

Intranet: Integrated NTLM (Provider : Windows)

Custom: Annymous (Provider : Windows)

Due to some requirement we have enabled Integrated NTML for Default zone (Anonymous) using central admin authentication provider. Site is working fine for us except few customizations went missing from the master pages/publishing pages. Such as language switch labels in Masterpage, Search box from Search result page.

Please suggest how can I get the links/search box back in the site. I have reverted the Changes of default zone to remove NTLM, however issue still remains.
