Timer Job Error

I am getting the folowing error on one of my server.

It seems to be preventinh solutions from deploying to the server its on

Havent found much on it out there

preserving document dates while migrating to 2010

To migrate from MOSS 2007 to SP 2010 there is a requirement like date of all documents in MOSS 2007 server has to be preserved.

What is the way to implement that?

If any specialized code is code is required for this... pl share link for that code.

SP2010 Portal Site Loads Home Page then Does nothing (click a link has like mini refresh)

Anybody have this issue on SP2010 it requires (IISRESET, every 5 or 6 hours).

Homepage loads but then when you try to navigate nothing else loads just a refresh tiny of the homepage. Trying to trackdown the culprit, logs etc...

Guys,

Does anyone know why New-SPConfigurationDatabase would come back with 'Unknown error <0x80005000>' - sorry for the redundancy -

I am trying to install a new SharePoint Foundation 2010 farm on my SQL Server 2012 express. Any guidance would be truly appreciated.

Attempting to Edit Properties of a file in a SharePoint 2010 Library and receiving the following error:

There is no file with url <url of file> in this web.

Is this an orphaned file?

Document Management Server: The remot name could not be resolved

Hi all,

I have renamed a development server using the Rename-SPServer PowerShell commandlet. I am noticing in the event log, I have:

Event ID: 7933
Event Source: Document Management Server
Message:
The Office HTML Viewer Service could not be registered with Office HTML Load Balancing Service
Error: The remote name could not be resolved: 'oldservername'

I would like to update this service using Powershell (as I need to script the development server rename) - anyone know how to do this?

SharePoint 2010 Office documents download disabled for anonymous

Hi, I have been searching for a solution to this problem for a long time and found nothing. Basically we have a public facing SharePoint site and we want users to be able to download Word files so they can be filled out and sent back through email. Download seems to be disabled and I've tried everything I can think of to try and enable downloads. If the login prompt is cancelled it will display a 404 error.

As anonymous I can go into the library and see the document, and I can edit it using Office Web Apps but when I try to download it, no go. Even the document drop-down menu does NOT have "Send to > download a copy" whereas all non Office documents do. How can I enable downloading?

Bulk Configure Manage Data Refresh on Sharepoint 2010

I have upwards of 200 powerpivot workbooks that I manage on Sharepoint 2010 (SQL 2012 back-end), but I need to find a way to automate the initial setup/future changes to the "Mange Data Refresh" settings for each workbook. I have already configured the unattended account and I have tested the automatic data refresh on a few workbooks successfully, but I need help with bulk-updating the other workbooks so I don't have to configure each of them manually and/or make future changes manually. Help, please.

I'm creating a complaint form for our call center.

From my InfoPath Web Form I need to:

  • View all the orders of the client
  • Select the order for which he is complaining.
  • Register the complaint

Since I’m using InfoPath, I want to use the External Item Picker Control to browse the orders.

What is the problem?

All the orders and the contact information of the clients are saved in PostgreSQL. That's why, I need to create an external content type using this DB.

How can I do that?

SharePoint 2010, SP1, Dec 2011 CU on Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise w/ SP1

I installed PowerPivot on the farm, and I now get the "Export as data feed" link in the ribbon on sharepoint lists.  when I click the link the browser downloads a file, when I open it, it opens excel and PowerPivot and tries to import/link to the data.

However, it always fails. the SharePoint server shows errors in the event log:

WebHost failed to process a request. Sender Information: System.ServiceModel.ServiceHostingEnvironment+HostingManager/5598643 Exception: System.ServiceModel.ServiceActivationException: The service '/_vti_bin/listdata.svc' cannot be activated due to an exception during compilation. 

Web searches led me to a recommended solution of disabling anonymous authentication on the SharePoint web application. I tested that, and while it does work, we use anonymous access in some of our sharepoint sites - I can't disable it for the web application.  I tried disabling anonymous authentication on just the /_vti_bin/listdata.svc file via IISAdmin, but that doesn't resolve the error.

Is there some method of making this work without disabling anonymous access on the entire web application? that is a pretty big thing to require.

April CU13 unexpected version

Dear All,

Our SharePoint Server 2010 server (single server) farm is at this level 14.0.6106.5002. To my understanding it is SP1 with June CU 2011.

Now we would like to upgrade the server to level April 13 CU. I have therefore followed this linkhttp://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;2775353 and request the hotfix.

The file I downloaded is 462150_intl_x64_zip.exe

Yesterday I tried to apply the CU and I got an error "unexpected version".

I believe that I have downloaded the right file to update the firm, but I'm not sure why I get the error.

Could you please help?

Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Usage Data Import Job Stuck at 0%

Hello,

My Sharepoint portal is really slow. And I have noticed that the timer job Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Usage Data Import is stuck at 0%. I think this problem came after I generated some usage reports in the site collection.

Also when I restart the Sharepoint 2010 Timer service navigation speed in my portal restores to normal, but as soon as the job restarts it gets slow again.

Any ideas how I can solve this issue?

if we make 'as' 'owner' of SharePoint content, administration and configuration databases, will it effect / break anything considering that SharePoint administrative account is member of fixed db_owner group.

OpenDocument Addon breaking

Hi!

We are running Sharepoint 2010.  Our users are running Windows 7. Office 2010. IE 9.

We do have some Office 2013 components (Lync 2013 and a few users have Visio 2013).

Everytime we install or modify a 2013 component we have to repair Office 2010 because the Sharepoint OpenDocument Addon stops working.

When you click on a document from Sharepoint (xlsx for example) it normall asks to Open Read Only or Open Modify. When the addon stops working users only have the options Open.. Save.. or Save As... (choosing open opens read-only) with no Sharepoint notions (doesnt even tell you this is readonly)

Not sure where to start. Thoughts?

Migration issue SSP upgrade 2007 to 2010

In case of SSP migration if we want to totally ignore SSP migration to 2010 service application. We want to create all service app new by not doing any SSP upgrade, is there any major problem in this approach?

Can we totally ignore SSP?

Proper AAM entry to reference a site using IP:portnumber

I have a Webapp called sitename.domain.com, it sent across 4 WFE using a NLB.

In order to implement monitoring that will check if all 4 servers are up I want to check a page for content on

each server.

Do I add a public URL entry xxx.x.109:8888 for each server or do I

Add Internal url for the proper zone?

Can I empty tempdb?

Hello SharePoint Family,

I have noticed a database file called tempdb that has grown bigger than normal.  It is currently at 15GB and I am wondering is this okay to totally truncate or empty somehow?  Last time this file shows modified was 6/25/2013.....can someone explain what exactly this DB is responsible for and what could happen if I was to remove this file?
