Hi all,
I noticed a lot of event ID 5553 errors on this site but I have tried almost all of it and it seems to not be solving the issue. Specifically the error I get is this:
failure trying to synch site 3d0b5889-cf98-4d4f-8212-f35d602f88e6 for ContentDB 14a09b1b-3984-4499-bf1d-c9e517911f8b WebApp a26f4ded-f07a-4e0f-8c70-e3f38dca95d7. Exception message was Cannot insert duplicate key row in object 'dbo.UserMemberships' with unique index 'CX_UserMemberships_RecordId_MemberGroupId_SID'.My Sharepoint 2010 is running on 3 separate VMs as such:
1) Sharepoint server
2) SQL server
3) AD authentication
I have tried the following steps to try to fix this:
1) stsadm -o sync -listolddatabases 0
Result:
User Profile Application 'User Profile Service Application' - Partition '0c37852stsadm -o sync -deleteolddatabases 0
Result:
A failure occurred during the processing of this command. Check diagnostic logs2) I have tried to delete the AD server connection by going to Central admin > Manage service apps > User Profile service application > Configure synchronization connections. Went to Monitoring > review job definitions > click on "User Profile Service Application - User Profile to SharePoint Full Synchronization" and click on run now. Same error occurs.
Anything else I should try? Any help greatly appreciated.
Hi
I have sharepoint list with large amount of data(approximately 30500). Each time I have to increase “list view threshold” in resource throttling in central administration when users said me have problem due to this error:
This view cannot be displayed because it exceeds the list view threshold enforced by the administrator.
Is there any way to alert me before reach to max threshold of list?!
Thanx.
Hi All
I have a problem in a specific site collection in a web Application (but not on other site collection in that webApp).
whenever I add a user like some system account to a sharepoint group or create a new sharepoint group or add an ActiveDirectory group to a sharepoint group I get an error and the user / group are not added :
System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException: [Work Email Address] - [Wrong Email Format] at Microsoft.SharePoint.Library.SPRequestInternalClass.EnsureUserExists(String bstrUrl, String bstrLogin, String bstrEmail, String bstrName, String bstrNotes, String bstrMobilePhone, Int32 lFlags, Boolean bIsRole, Boolean bSendEmail, Boolean bForceAdd, Byte[]& ppsaSystemId, Boolean bImportDeleted, Int32& plUserId) at Microsoft.SharePoint.Library.SPRequest.EnsureUserExists(String bstrUrl, String bstrLogin, String bstrEmail, String bstrName, String bstrNotes, String bstrMobilePhone, Int32 lFlags, Boolean bIsRole, Boolean bSendEmail, Boolean bForceAdd, Byte[]& ppsaSystemId, Boolean bImportDeleted, Int32& plUserId)
when I add a regular user - all goes well.
10x for any help

I am creating a term set.
Some of my terms have multiple names so I am using synonyms.
To give a bad example if my term was "Everything Everywhere" my synonyms would be "Orange" and "Hutchinson Telecom" - the previous names for the company.
When indexing the user types "Orange" and "Everything Everywhere" is recommended - fantastic.
The problem is that this does not work for retrieval.
If I search for Orange - nothing.
If I switch on meta data navigation on the library my synonyms are nowhere to be seem.
My question is am I seeing the expected behaviour and how is this issue worked through since most term sets in my experience will have this type of lifecycle.
Can somebody please explain what parameters Customproperty passes to peoplepicker dialog?
The URL looks something like
/_layouts/Picker.aspx?MultiSelect=True&CustomProperty=User,SecGroup,SPGroup;;1;;;False&DialogTitle=/.../
The first is PeoplePickerDialog.SelectionSet Property, but others (I see 6 parameters)? I'm extremely interested in the 3rd one, which in this example is 1. This seams to mess up the dialog - when searching in the dialog it only shows Site Users, manually changing the parameter (anything else seems to work, altough 15 seems to be the usual value) displays also other sources (I have claims-based auth configured).
And no, onlysearchwithinsitecollection does not change the situation, neither does peoleeditoronlyresolvewithinsitecollection.
The bigger question is where does this URL come from - yes, JavaScript, sDialogUrl variable, but why does it differ from one web app to other?
Any ideas anyone?
Hi,
I am in the process of configuring Kerberos authentication for a SharePoint 2010 site that is using NTML authentication for IIS authentication.
I am using this website as a reference http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/5948.sharepoint-2010-configuring-kerberos-authentication.aspx
Once I get to the "SETSPN command line tool for the SharePoint Application Pool Account" portion, I run a CMD Line script setspn -Ahttp/servername domain\service account and I run into this error below.
Failed to assign SPN on account 'CN=domain\service account ,OU=SharePoint, OU=Global Service account, OU Admins, DC=Domain,DC=gov,DC=za', error 0x2098/8344 -> Insufficient access rights to perform the operation.
Has anybody encountered this error and what was your solution?

I have created one library, two audiences: A and B, two groups of users: A and B. Group A is able to see only some documents in the library, according to a view in the library shown to audience A. Group B is able to see all documents according to the view presentet to audience B.
The problem is: When i synchronize the library to the desktop, users from group A will see all documents like users from group B.
It is possible to switch of the synchronize button for the library, but is it possible to switch of the button only for group A? So that only group B will be able to synchronize.
thx.

can any one help me out!
Hi there,
I've finally got my sharepoint app connected to an active directory server and can see the active directory users in people picker, but I cannot see an entry for forms auth user, which as I understand is what I need to add in order to get forms authentication to work.
With the active directory user it just doesn't let them log in, with a failed credentials error.
Any ideas?
Nick
Somewhere out there...
I've setup a new site for forms based authentication against SQL. I have added my SQL user to my site permissions, i.e. user policy and site collection admin... That seems to be fine.
When I try to access the site I don't get the login page, just a "This page cannot be displayed error".
I tried adding a page "test.htm" to the directory that just displays HELLO WORLD but that gets the same error. I'm assuming it's a web.comfig issue, but not sure what.
Any ideas?

Hello,
I'm preparing a new SharePoint list that is experiencing a problem with the DataSheet view. Whenever a new row is inserted in the DataSheet view, Internet Explorer crashes. The list currently has about 500 items on it. I've tried everything I can think of and can't figure out why this is occuring. Here's the background:
Technical structure: SharePoint 2010 Enterprise, Office 2010 Standard and Professional (fully patched), Windows 7 Enterprise (fully patched). There are no Office 2003 components installed on the computers.
Problem Scenario: After entering data into a new row in DataSheet view, and then tabbing or clicking off the row, the record is attempted to be updated on the server. The status goes to pending and the icon changes to the side-to-side update pending icon. Immediately thereafter IE crashes. Importantly, this is happening on three different computers, and this does NOT occur on other lists on the same SharePoint site.
Failed diagnostic steps:
Any other suggestions?
Hello,
I have a user where on some sites that he uses the document library fails to load. We are on SharePoint 2010, Enterprise Edition. The problem is just on his Windows 7 PC, and no others have reported the problem. He is using IE 10.
Can you give me some possible things to try to fix the issue?
Thanks
Paul
I'm with this situation:
We have a Project Server 2010 in two server, a Production Environment and a Development
Environment, either using a Server to the Application and a Server to the Database. The Dev Enviroment was corrupted, then the IT department decided to restore the virtual image of the Production, overwriting the Dev (We use VMWare).
I agreed with them, because in theory it would be easy to adjust... I would access the Configuration
Wizard, disconnect the old farm and create a new one pointing to the Development Database Server. But the world it's not so perfect.
When I try to open the Sharepoint Configuration Wizard, a failure message appears with this
message:
"error 26 - error locating server
/ instance specified"
Then I thought about changing the instance of the farm using some script in the Sharepoint
Management Shell, but I get this error:
"The local farm is not accessible.
Cmdlets are not registered with FeatureDependencyId"
And when trying to run any cmdlets get this message:
"Can not access the local farm.
The Verify that the local farm is configured enquiry.c, Currently available, que and you have the Appropriate permissions to access the database before trying again"
I already check my permissions. I'm using the Farm Administrator Account which is part of the Administrator Group of the Server, also I checked and the flag "SharePoint_Shell_Access" is ok to the "SharePoint_Config" Database.
Does anyone have any idea what I can do? Recalling that the machine is an exact copy of the current production environment that is working perfectly!
Can someone tell me what's wrong with the June 2013 CU for SP 2010 package?
And what's the next step from MS - a re- releases june CU - and when?
I've got it installed in every environment, because haven't seen anything wrong... maybe I'm in for a big surprise?
I'm getting the following error when trying to execute SPListItem.Update()
I've been able to update just fine previously and have no idea if I did something to break SharePoint :) And it happens on two different lists. I does not happen when adding and editing items using the SharePoint UI.
This is the error...

Any ideas? :)
I have tried restarting the server, but no luck..
EDIT: It seems to relate to how the Content Types are set up in the List definition. I'll get back to you on that.

Hi,
We have multiple domains in use.
On one of the web applications newly created, When I try to provide full Display Name of the user and click on Check Names, it does not resolve, but if I enter domain\username, it quickly resolves. Also when I try to search the user using Browse, I could not find the user.
Other Web applications this works fine.
Please help.
How do you get ride of this error raised by the Health Analyser:
Business Data Connectivity connectors are currently enabled in a partitioned environment.
