Error: Event ID:6875 in sharepoint server

Hi,

I am getting below error in sharepoint server event logs continuously. 

Error loading and running event receiver Microsoft.SharePoint.Publishing.Internal.PublishingWebEventReceiver in Microsoft.SharePoint.Publishing, Version=14.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c. Additional information is below.

: <nativehr>0x80070005</nativehr><nativestack></nativestack>Access denied.

Any help would be greatly appreciated to fix this error.

Hi,

I have two pages library , A and B for example. Pages in A library, have a lookup column referencing to pages in B library. I unpublished a page in B library but that unpublished page is still showing at lookup column. Is this a bug?

Real World Capacity Planning in Sharepoint 2013

I have possibly gone through all the available articles published. But still not convinced.

I am trying to do capacity planning for our company. around 2000 employees will use SharePoint 2013 globally. User operations do vary from document authoring to wikis, to custom lists and Office Web Apps.

All the articles on the internet suggest that I should focus on RPS rather than number of the users. However, they provide RPS calculating formula to calculate RPS. In one of the TechNet articles, it is stated that 4 cores CPU and 14 GB memory server can generate around 50 RPS. What does this really mean? They have not mentioned the user load at all? What RPS does give me here then? RPS is the throughput that server generates in a sec. but 50 RPS looks too low..

I am using my common sense now, a page view, say home page, can make around 30-40 requests to server depending on the components on the page. How does this scenario fit above statement?

Has anyone done proper real world capacity planning? If so, where did you start? Did you get it right first place? How did you monitor the performance post-release?

Hi everyone,

I've created another subsite but everytime I try to access 'Site Settings' I receive the following error see shot below.

I've noticed people saying enter an Alternate Access Mapping but I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be adding in here!? The URL of the subsite is https://<myserver>:<port>/BRHolidays/default.aspx I've tried adding this then IISRESET but I keep getting the same message.

Please could someone advise me.

SharePoint 2010 integration with ADFS 3.0

Hi,

Whether SharePoint 2010 integration with ADFS 3.0 is possible? I've seen a couple of articles stating the integration of SP2010 with ADFS v1.0 and v2.0, but not with v3.0. Can anyone please throw some light here? Thanks!

Multiple errors from MsiInstaller with event id 1015 and text "Failed to connect to server. Error: 0x80070005"

Hi,

Every night I get a lot of warnings in the event log from MsiInstaller with event ID 1015 and text "Failed to connect to server. Error: 0x80070005". They are always followed by a new event 1035. Example:

Event 1015, MsiInstaller (Warning)
Failed to connect to server. Error: 0x80070005

Event 1035, MsiInstaller (Information)
Windows Installer reconfigured the product. Product Name: Microsoft Excel Mobile Viewer Components. Product Version: 14.0.4763.1000. Product Language: 0. Manufacturer: Microsoft Corporation. Reconfiguration success or error status: 0.

I probably get around 50 of these each night, and the 1035 events are all related to various SharePoint components. The user in all cases is the sharepoint farm account.

I use SharePoint 2010 enterprise in a farm install on one virtual server. I have a private domain, and the database is on a separate server.

Does anyone have any idea why this happens? Other than the error in the event log I cannot see any issues with my installation. I have searched for this error and seen it related to user profile synchronisation, but profile sync is working fine for me. I installed using the Technet guide and the user profile sync guide at http://www.harbar.net/articles/sp2010ups.aspx

SharePoint 2010 LDAP Authentication Type

I currently have a SharePoint 2010 web application using regular Windows authentication provider.  A single default zone, Integrated Windows NTLM authentication. We need to provide access to other LDAP accounts.  Generally speaking, what is the recommended approach?  i.e., should the web application be extended?  Can it be extended since we are currently using a Classic Mode Authentication model?  Would it use Negotiate (Kereberos) or NTLM? Would our current web application need to be recreated to use Claims Based Authentication, Windows and/or FBA?  Do we need to be cognizant of a potential SharePoint 2013, 2016 upgrade?

sharepoint 2010: prevent users from editing a list in the datasheet view

Hi,

I have a sharepoint 2010 list that I need to prevent users to edit from the datasheet view. This is because I have edited the add item form on sharepoint designer and included some custom code. Moreover, I need to allow the users to view the list in datasheet view to make use of the datasheet custom filter view feature which is not available in the standard view. So I need users to access the datasheet view of the list in read mode only but be able to edit the list in standard view only. Is this possible? How?

Import subsite via powershell

Hi,

I would like to import a .cmp file that's a backup of my subsite.
Now on my new Site I would like to do this restore of this subsite. 

Via powershell : 

Import-SPWeb http://tes:666/stage -Path C:\Default3.cmp -Force

What am I doing wrong? Thx

configuration wizards loads blank page

I cant seem to get the configuration wizards to display within Central Administration (SharePoint 2010). It currently loads a blank screen?

Tried remotely and locally on the Sharepoint server.

 

 

 

User Profile Synchronisation "Starting" state

To begin with, I have read the following articles.

Okay now what's the issue in my Farm, the usual  "User Profile Synchronization" is stuck in Starting state.

Cause i believe: The ForeFrontIdentity Managers are not being generated automatically.

If anyone from the ForeFrontIdentity Management Service or SharePoint Product team can give me a idea what i need to do for the FIM Certificates to be generated, it would be really appreciated.

Search User Profiles without MySites

We upgraded from 2007 to 2010 last year. In 2010 we did not set up a MySite web app or top level site collection. We did set up the User Profile Service and the profiles are syncing data from AD correctly. I have two issues that I would like help resolving. First, I would like to set up a search where we can search for people and get their profile information. I want to use this like a company directory. I don't want to use the site collection user list, I want the profile information instead because the site collection user list does not contain all of our users. If I don't have MySite, what do I set the crawl to?  Where are the profiles stored?

Second, in a site collection, when we click on the name of the user under "created by" or "modified by", we get a page not found.  I'm not sure if that is supposed to link to the profile (which I think is person.aspx) or the site collection user (userdisp.aspx). 

Are both of these issues caused by not having a MySite application set up?  Is there anyway to have and use profiles without having them in the MySite app and site collection?  I would like users to be able to modify their profile and we'd like to search them.  I'd also like those links under created/modified by to link to something.  I've read about 50 articles and books and can't find a definitive answer on needing/not needing MySite. Any help is much appreciated.

Remove user access to the sharepoint 2010 site collection

Hi,

I have an account which is used to install sharepoint and required software in my standalone system (distributed also). I don't want to grant any access to this account. For that I have followed below steps.

1) Removed from Farm administrator gruop

2) Removed from Site collections group

3) Application pool identity also changed with some other user

4) Removed complete access from Site Permissions page

Still when i check permissions for this user using "Check Permissions" in Site Permissions page, it is displaying all the permissions which is shown in below screen shot.



Please help me out how can i remove this user access to the site collection.


Error: The search request was unable to connect to the Search Service

I am unable to get the Search functionality working in my SP site.  I have a new SP farm (2 app, 2 web, 1 sql) which I am working on configuring.  I've migrated a site collection from my development environment which appears to be fully functional other than the Search.  I created a seperate Enterprise Search site and that works fine.  This leads me to believe it's something specific with the site or the search service application I configured. 

When I search for something on the site it throws the error:  The search request was unable to connect to the Search Service.

When I view the search service application in CA it shows over 300 searchable items, crawls completing successfully, etc.  I verified my site has the correct service application association selected.  I think my Enterprise Search site uses a different search service application though (FAST Query SSA).  I think I've gone through all the settings to verify the correct account is being used.  Any advice on what I can do/try next? Thank you!

Hi,

I would like to understand what all certificates we have to install in SharePoint servers as part of fresh installation and configuration? To my understanding, we have to import SSL web certificates for web applications using port 443/HTTPS/SSL communication. Is my understanding correct? Any help on this certificate requirements is much appreciated.

List items with Account Numbers open in InfoPath with commas

I have a list which has a field for 7-digit account numbers which I have set as a non-numeric Text field. In the list, it appears without commas. Adding a list item uses InfoPath. I checked the Text Box and confirmed that the Binding is set to TextType.

However, when someone is in the list and selects a list item, the values return with commas.

How can I fix this?

sharepoint web application was unable and show error 403 forbidden and 503 server errors

i some times loose connection to sharepoint site where i am working with,i was just run some powershell scripts to update

a filed value in a document library only

and it some times show in browser 403 Forbidden error and some times 503 server error 

when i check in event viewer i got this below errors
