Can a "List's" link render 2 pages in the browser instead of replacing the page with the link?

Hello Community

In SharePoint 2010 Server if you create a list item that has “links” when the user
clicks on the link , that page gets replaced with the page associated with the url that was in the link.

However, Internet Explorer allows you to have more than one page available in the browser
at the same time.  For example if you type MSN.com into the address bar and after that you click
a link on the page, that link will load that  other page into the browser too. That allows you to click on
either tab at the top of the browser  which allows you to toggle back and forth between pages.

Is there a way that a list item with a link can provide that same functionality?

    Thank you
