I am hoping someone here can help.
Long story short, I applied the June CU recently to resolve a few issues (it fixed them), and now it has broken search. Of course I tested all these changes in dev prior to applying in production and they worked like a charm in dev.
I have been racking my brain trying to get this fixed. I have inherited this environment so it is still new to me and some configuration I have seen has me scratching my head in confusion as to why things were done a certain way...but i digress.
The initial issue was that the windows search service had stopped and i could not restart it as I didnt have the credentials. I changed the service account to the one configured in sharepoint, and then it was stopping and disabling itself every 30-60 minutes or so.
I tried to create a new search application, and ran a successful crawl (well somewhat successful, some permission errors, but there were 100k plus successfully crawled files)
Now the service stays up, but there are no results when performing a search.
To note: There are some access mapping errors (which from my research, I know is related, but I cant figure out what I need to fix). I dont recall seeing access mappings errors prior to the HF install, but thats not to say they didnt exist. Most of the logs had been overwritten unfortunately.
In the original search application, I get access denied running the crawl. It seems to only happen if crawling http but not https........
I realize this is all over the place, but can someone please help point me in the right direction on where to start?!
