Here is an issue that we haven't been able to figure out in regards to username and permissions.
We did some customization to our SharePoint sites. We found that after customization, some of our users can no longer log in to the site. They only get a correlation id error. To fix this issue we have to give the user exclusive permissions. we cannot use the domain\domain users group for them.
As we got more and more calls, we found out that it was users who had had a name change. Either from a marriage or divorce.
Further, if go into permissions for the site select that user "Usernewname".It comes back and says do you want to remove the user "Useroldname".
It seems SharePoint is not picking up the name change fully.
Has anyone else seen this. Is it an AD problem or a SharePoint user profile problem.
