sharepoint 2010 and mssql 2008r2/2012

We have sharepoint 2010 sp1 installed with mssql 2008r2.  We are also looking into upgrading our databases to 2012.

We would like to just test out mssql 2012 on the sharepoint 2010sp1.  I want to make a copy of the 2008r2 sharepoint databases and import them to the 2012 database and have sharepoint point to the 2012 dbs and let users test on it.

Is there any document on how to accomplish this?
