Upgraded from Wss3.0 to sharepoint 2010 last night. All went well and all site content is restored and as was before I started. The problem I have relates to prompts for credentials from clients when trying to accesshttp://companyweb Obviously done a lot of googling and can't seem to get past people with problems on the actual clients (or at least that is the suggestion). Now I'm guessing that due to the fact that it worked fine a few hours before the upgrade and then not after that it is a authentication problem on the newly upgraded site? Full scenario below
I can access http://companyweb from the server
I can access https://remote.domain.com:987 from any location
when trying to access http://companyweb from clients (WIN7 with all updates applied) I get the credentials box pop up. It will not accept standard user or administrative credentials and after 3 attempts returns a completely blank page
I want to resolve this ASAP as I plan to create a bigger headache for myself connecting windows phone 7 devices to sharepoint, but I'm not touching that till this is resolved.
When replying please remember I know nothing about SP2010 or any other version for that matter and may need a walkthrough to make some changes unless they are blindingly obvious.
